This is a movie which makes you feel the both. Okja is a huge factory-made creature. It is raised by a young girl in the mountains of South Korea. The company wants Okja back to New York for their horrible plan but the girl is ready to risk everything to protect her best friend’s life. It is a disturbing look at the concept of consumerism and capitalism. Movie’s stars are Jake Gyllenhaal and Tilda Swinton. It can be may first time seeing Gyllenhaal as the bad character, truly a remarkable experience!
Annihilation (Alex Garland, 2018)
It is a pretty exotic sci-fi movie from the director Alex Garland who is known best for his another sci-fi movie “Ex-Machina”. I said exotic because the color scheme is amazingly bright. It is about 5 scientists who join an expedition for a secret and dangerous mission. The lead character is Oscar winner Natalie Portman and she portrays a biologist in the movie. The good thing is that all of these 5 scientists are women and it is so good to see women as heroines. The thrill is never gone throughout the movie. You should see it soon if you like sci-fi movies.

An unhappy and grumpy woman is robbed. She can’t find a meaning in her life and that makes her depressed. She decides to find robbers because she needs a purpose in her life. With her neighbour, she starts to track down the clues. They soon find themselves in the middle of bigger crimes. This one of the netflix movies is an absurd black comedy. It stars Elijah Wood as the neighbour. It is good to see him standing out in another movies other than the Lord of The Rings trilogy.
The Fundamentals of Caring (Rob Burnett, 2016)
It starts like a tragedy but it is a healing movie! It is a complete energy booster thanks to its heartwarming story and witty jokes. A former writer man becomes a disabled teenager’s caregiver. The teenager doesn’t enjoy his life or he enjoys the way it is because he doesn’t know another way. The caregiver is an idealist though and they decide to have a road trip together. As the story enhances, they start to find out the value of friendship and importance of hope.
The Meyerowitz Stories (Noah Baumbach, 2017)
Who don’t see each other for a long time, gather together to a celebration event for their artist father’s work. It is a hearwarming, witty and realistic family story. Famous actors Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller show great performance of acting. They have dysfunctional relationships with each other and these relationships unravel throughout this Netflix movie.
