Hi everyone! Today I’m here to talk about one of my favorite sport: Rollerblading. I want to give more details about this sport and make you think about it. I hope at the end of this article, you will wonder and want to try it! Let’s start with the benefits of this sport to our physical and mental health.
YOU’LL ENJOY AND GET RELAX WHILE ROLLERBLADING
I think that the most important thing about any sport that you do is enjoying it. This is the first rule for me. I always feel myself relax and my stress level automatically goes down when I start rollerblading. Because when you are be able to skate alone and fast, it gives you a different kind of freedom.
Just imagine that it’s Sunday and you are rollerblading near by the seaside. While you are rollerblading, it seems like you are watching a peaceful movie. Some people just laying on the grasses and some of them laughing with their friends or some of them swimming in the sea. And you just passed them away one by one and doing a sport at the same time. Trust me you can’t think about your daily problems or anything makes you feel sad. That’s why my first suggestion to you is to find a good place for rollerblading. It can be a big green park or a seaside cycling area. Both of them make you feel fresh and happy. (If you are living in Istanbul Caddebostan is the best place to start rollerblading.) In a nutshell, find a peaceful place in the nature and relax your mind while burning calories.
THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF ROLLERBLADING
If you have problems with your weight or you want to be more healthy this sport is absolutely a good option. Rollerblading can help you to to loose weight. You can burn up 450 calories in 30 minutes! And trust me you’ll never understand how it happens. Because there is no pain or no boring exercises.
“The Inline Skating Resource Center reports that rollerblading is one is the most advantageous workouts for muscle development, even more so than running or bicycling.” I think this report shows us this activity is absolutely funny and also beneficial. Why everyone try this sport when they are teenage or a child? Ask this question to yourself please!

I DON’T HAVE A ROLLER SKATE HOW CAN I FIND THE BEST ONE FOR MY LEVEL?
If you are a beginner at this sport you can go to Decathlon or any sports store. You’ll see that there are different kind of rollerblades. They separate the rollerblades according to your skating level. If you are a beginner you should prefer level one rollerblades. And also there are different rollerblades for proffessionals. The difference between the rollerblades are their wheels and their comfort. If you are a proffessional skater you want to go fast but if you are a begginer you want to be safe. So the difference of wheels ensure this kind of issues.
Here is my rollerblade, It’s Oxelo. “It has developed for short-distance rides (up to 10 km).” I bought mine from Decathlone and it is 180 Turkish Liras. Its wheels are pretty soft and it is very comfortable to skate with it. I like my rollerblade very much!
YOU DON’T NEED A TRAINER TO LEARN ROLLERBLADING
You absolutely don’t need a trainer to learn this sport. I learned it by myself when I was a teenager. There are very few simple rules about rollerblading so you can learn them from any youtube video easily. You should just learn how to stay balanced on the rollerblades and how to stop while rollerblading. As I said before I learned all of them when I was a teenager without a video, so you can do it as well.
Don’t be afraid!
It can be hard to stay balanced on the rollerblades at the beginning, but a few practice later you can be able to stand on it. If you have a friend with you, you can try to stand on the skates with the help of her/him. However, if you want to learn it alone you can use any wall near by you. Just try rollerblading near by the wall first. When you feel safe and balanced on the rollerblades you can leave the wall and go without it.
The second thing that you have to learn is how to stop while rollerblading. There are 3 simple ways to stop. These are: T stop, heel break and plow stop. I don’t want to talk about these methods too much because you can easily understand it with a short video from Youtube.
Just write there how to stop rollerblading. And that’s all!

Rollerblading and ice skating are really similar sports. Because the main rules are really same. So if you do rollerblading well that means you can do iceskating as well. Ice skating is also my favorite sport and I even didn’t take a course to learn how to skate. The first time I try to skate it was a success. I skated very well because of my rollerblading experience.
